L'Altana City House is a 1300 elegant palace, placed in the city centre, next to one of the most beautiful Reinassance buildings of Brescia, the Loggia palace, and near the main artistic places such as the Dome and Santa Giulia Museum.
The "altana", know also as Belvedere, is a platform or veranda placed on the highest part of a building that sometimes substitutes the roof. Unlike terraces and balconies, the "altana" doesn't protrude from the body of the building. The "altana", in the shape of a small veranda, could be found in every nunnery: it let the nuns take part in the religious processions, while being hidden from the other people's sight.
